The Duke & Duchess of Albany with two of their daughters. The Duke is Heir Apparent to King Francis II

With the Scottish Independence movement (at best in a state of inertia and, at worst, founded on the wrong principles or misguided ideals) and Legitimism haven given way to complacency, romantic idealism or, perhaps, simply worn down by nearly 3 centuries of oppression at the hands of the English Regime, it is hard to see the bold move forward (which is needed to re-establish and assert Scotland's technical independence) coming in the immediate future.

Whilst we must not fall into that same trap of acceptance and time-biding, which has left the once glorious Kingdom of Scots floundering as a social and political subordinate of its Oppressor, we must look in a structured, practical way at working toward Scotland's cultural, political, social and economic liberty.  With the Heads of the Royal House of Stuart having been disadvantaged by their dual-headship of other Royal Houses (this is where the problem began back in 1603!) or being subject to international diplomacy of the modern era; it is unlikely that he or she will ever be in a position to voice their support overtly or stand up and state their readiness to return to Holyrood House! This being the case it is our responsibility as Scots (by birth or descent) to unite and show our support for our Chief of Chiefs, our clans, our language, and our community and demand that our free, legitimate government (The Three Estates) be allowed to sit once again under the adjudication of our own legitimate Monarch in Edinburgh.

Ceartas! Saorsa!
